money first. life second.

It's so disturbing when your intention to help person in need suddenly become a profit based treatment.

One patient, a non Malaysian referred from district hospital for open fracture left femur grade 3. I was stunned as the staff immediately came to the father asking how much money he had. The father, a small built man with a rough dark skin (you can tell all his entire life spent to find money for the family), blinking his eyes, rubbed his head as he had about 30 ringgit in his hand.

I stood there. Speechless. Can we just treat the patient first? Sooner or later; money come first, life comes second. And I hate my life now.
